It's not so much the words you write, as much as it is the ability for readers to understand what your writing. There is more than one way to say many things. It should so complicated that others can't understand it. Don't beat around the colorful metaphors to a point where someone loses interest. Words shouldn't be the mystery, but the mystery should be in the words.
