What's Your Favorite Color?

INTRODUCTION:

For the past three weeks, with all that's going on in the world, my subscribers have requested various different topics relating to these events. I try to choose the ones I think would be of most interest. I must admit, when I received a request to talk about color, I was a bit apprehensive to discuss it. After some thought as to how I would present it, it hit me. This is a PERFECT topic to talk about, and, it should not offend the world. However, I'm sure it will, because there are some people that are simply one sided. This group of people you here the news refer to as activists, agitators, and other colorful metaphors. This left me with one very important question to answer:

DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF I RUFFLE THEIR FEATHERS WITH THE TRUTH?

COLOR: (part 1)

What is color? Courtesy of Google, the definition of color is; "the property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way the object reflects or emits light." Ok, that makes sense. Therefore, you see the different colors of people's skin. Melanin is the pigment that determines skin color and other human color characteristics such as hair, and eyes. This chemical is produced by skin cells when they exposed to the sun. The more sun exposure, the more melanin is produced. However, skin color is a result of genetics. Again, courtesy of Google, "An individual's skin pigmentation is the result of genetics, being the product of both of the individual's biological parents' genetic makeup, and exposure to sun. ... The actual skin color of different humans is affected by many substances, although the single most important substance is the pigment melanin."

COLOR: (part 2)

There you have it. That's the science behind it. However, the science has nothing to do with the people react to color. In the past, or in the present. Part 1 describes the innate portion of color. Meaning, what we cannot control. It's in our DNA. In part 2, which is the most important part, is the learned behavior portion of color. That is something we can change.

Knowing all if this, "WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COLOR?" In a perfect world, when it comes to people, your answer should be, I have none. All colors are equal. However, we don't live in a perfect world, and we never will. For anything to be perfect, all the elements that make it up must also be perfect. Like a chain, if one link is weak, the entire chain becomes weak.

Therefore, in life, and in all things that deal with people, we will only be as strong

as our weakest link.

I present this question to you; regardless of the color of your skin,

be it white, black, brown, or yellow, or any color for that matter, do you think every race is the strongest, and does not have any weak links? Clearly, that cannot, and is not true. If it were, we would not be facing the racial inequality problems we are facing today, as a result of our past. Therefore, it is safe to assume that we live in a melting pot. A pot, by the way, that is melting at an alarming rate. In one of my previous blog posts I discussed what is known as cause and effect. Meaning, no matter what caused an event, there will always be an effect. A consequence for whatever action was taken. At times, the effect can be positive, but without proper thought and planning, in almost every case, it will be negative.

That my friends, is what we have now. Everything happening is negative, not positive.

IN CLOSING:

Why do I say everything is negative? Think about it for a moment, and also for that moment, forget the color of your skin. Is murder, causing harm to another, destroying private and government property, or any property, POSITIVE? Is that what is required to turn anything that is negative into something positive? Well, what the heck is the answer, or are we doomed to destroy ourselves? An interesting question to ponder over, because, it can easily go either way. Everyone knows this is an existing problem. How do we fix it? First, we must determine where the problem originates from. Everyone thinks that slavery is and was reserved only for black people. Let me fill you in on a little secret. Slavery goes back much further than that. It goes back to Roman Times and even earlier. People were enslaved to do the work of others, built pyramids, palaces, castles, and other inanimate things long before any black person was a slave. Color had nothing to do with slavery then. It was about nobility and what class of people you were in. This included PEOPLE OF ALL COLORS.

Slavery is part of the evolutionary process of our species. Long before color was looked at. Another fact is this. Ii was also NOT gender related. No matter how many statues get destroyed, or how many violent protests take place, IT WILL NOT CHANGE THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD, YET ALONE A ANY SINGLE COUNTRY. Where does that leave us? After over 30 years in public service, I can tell you this with certainty, because I've seen it. There are those that feel entitled, cause trouble, use the system, abuse the system, and murder and destroy people and their property in EVERY RACE and COLOR. Therefore, the hard truth is, BLACK PEOPLE are NOT PERFECT. WHITE people are NOT PERFECT. NO ONE RACE OR COLOR IS PERFECT.

GET OVER YOURSELF. BE AN INDIVIDUAL. ACT BY THE STANDARDS YOU PLACE ON YOURSELF, NOT THE STANDARDS OTHERS PLACE UPON YOU TO FULFILL THEIR PRIVATE AGENDA.

The most important piece on the chessboard is the KING because the goal is to capture that piece to win the game. But the king is only one piece, therefore, it's power is determined by the other pieces in the game. The most numerous piece on a chess board is the pawn, but also the weakest. Therefore, the easiest on to lose. Look at people as pawns in the game of chess. The agitators, activists, and others that are the root of the problem, want to control you. When you allow that to happen, you now have become the weakest player. You are no longer an individual. You either go with the flow, or be cast aside. The moral is simple. The answer to the question "What Is Your Favorite Color," is simple. EQUALITY. We are spared from global nuclear war because the largest powers in the world are playing on equal ground. Each can equally destroy the other. However, the outcome is everyone loses. There are no winners. Isn't what's going on now the same concept?

Most people in our society, and society as a whole, has evolved. Regardless of our history, or the history of humanity. Therefore, a battle, will NOT result in a clear winner. Every person becomes a loser. Regardless of the color of your skin. Therefore, EQUALITY is the only answer. THERE IS NO FAVORITE COLOR. The same applies to how we achieve this. We achieve this by NOT breaking is down by the color of a person's skin. I already showed you that slavery existed long before the existence of America or any country as we know it today. At some point, people of every color were slaves. We must become individuals, and stop following the troublemakers in the crowd. Not following any particular movement that is based on color, stop judging a person by the color of their skin, because our past has proved injustice and inequality to all. Only we as a people, unity, and NOT based on color, can institute change. We must all believe that ALL LIVES MATTER. We cannot change what was, we can only affect the present, which will affect the future. Although this post is my opinion, I base it my opinion on the facts of our history, what I see going on, as well as my life experiences. NO ONE COLOR IS PERFECT. It's not now, and it never will be, because humanity is not perfect. It's ok to have differences, be our own people, and not always agree. However, it is how we approach those challenges and fix them that defines who we all are, and have become, today, and what we might be like in the future.
