As writers, until we can afford the rates of dedicated publicists, we have to place a great effort on helping to market our books. With that said, you must NEVER compromise the quality of your work due to marketing. Nothing great was built overnight. Nor will your writing career be built over night. It takes time, endurance, consistency and dedication. If you are looking to be an overnight success, well that does rarely happen, but don't expect it. Expect to have to work hard to earn your place in the literary world. So your chin up, and never give up the ship.
